Our food, our medicine charity

MYR 188.00

A bounty of flavors, a treasure of worth

From the fields and forests, we gather with care

The nourishment we need, abundant and rare

Fruits and vegetables, grains and seeds

Nourishing our bodies, fulfilling our needs

Herbs and spices, teas and roots

Healing our ailments, erasing our woes

Food is our medicine, nature's gift

A source of vitality, a spirit lift

Let us cherish the earth, our provider so true

For our food is our medicine, our daily renew.

The seeds that we plant in the spring

Are the roots of our harvest in fall

The love we give out, all the help we bring

Is returned in the love of us all

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

The berries we pick in the summer

The herbs that we dry in the shade

When winter returns we'll be comforted

By the bounty of life that we've made

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

It is here that we come to remember

Who we are and what we can be

In the food that we eat and the love that we share

Is the answer to all that we seek

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

Our food our medicine, heaven of earth

The filling of cup, the slaying of fear

The feast is set, the table is full

The bounty of grace, is all that we need

So come, all who hunger, every soul who thirsts

Come dine at this table, your hunger, He’ll quench

For the Bread of Life waits, the Cup of Salvation is poured

Drink deeply of His love, and never thirst anymore

It’s been a while since I wrote a poem. Praise God for the blessing of inspiration. I’m grateful to Him for being able to share it with you.

Oh! I’m so glad you made it

I’ve been waiting for you

You’re right on time, I’m so excited

For all that we will do

I’ve laid the table, it is set

There’s bread and wine galore

Comfort food to warm your heart

And send you out the door

I’ve asked the Father to bless our time

Together, in His name

And as we dine, we’ll share His love

And never be the same

So come, my friend, let’s fellowship

And talk of all we know

For in this time of sharing

Our love will overflow

I found a very old recipe in a very old cook book

It was filled with love and kindness, and I couldn’t wait to look

So I gathered all the ingredients, and threw them in a bowl

The recipe was perfect, it spoke of harmony, not toll

I mixed in the flour of life, and the sugar of hope

I added some salt, for that beautiful flavour of love

I added some eggs, for the binding of all that’s above

And then I added some milk, that I’d been praying over

It was a miracle in itself, the way it stayed together

I poured it in a well greased tin, and put it in the oven

And although it was cooking, I could feel the Father’s lovin’

The fragrance was so beautiful, it filled up all the air

And I couldn’t believe my eyes, as a smile replaced all care

For I saw a cake that was overflowing with love

It was all I’d ever dreamed of, and had been praying for

So I’ll share a slice with you, and you can share a slice with me

And then the recipe will become our binding recipe

Oh! The joy of being able to say

This is the day that the Lord has made

I will rejoice and be glad in it

For His mercies are new, and they never fade

At times the heart may be troubled, yes

But His love is the balm that will heal you best

So lift up your hands, your heart, your voice

And make a joyful noise, in Him, rejoice

He’s the Bread of Life, the Vine, the Door

He’s the Shepherd, the King, the One we adore

He’s the Prince of Peace, and the Good Shepherd, too

He’s the Lily of the Valley, and the Rose of Sharon, true

So come, all ye who are heavy laden

For in His arms, you’ll find rest, He’ll never forsaken

All your cares, and all your pain

He’ll bear them all, again and again

We’re all on a journey, but not all are going the same way

Some are on the road to forgiveness, others are on the road to decay

Some are on the pathway, to life, and life more abundantly

Others are on the pathway, that leads to the pit, eternally

Some are on the narrow way, the way that leads to life

Others are on the pathway, that’s filled with hate and strife

Some are on the pathway, that leads to the river of life

Others are on the pathway, where there is pain and strife

So let’s all lift our voices up, and sing a joyful song

And let all the world know, that it’s with Him we belong

For He is the Way, the Truth, the Life

He alone can free us from all our strife

He is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, too

And all we need to do, is to cry out, He’ll rescue

So come, all who are heavy burdened, and He will give you rest

Rest from the journey, that has put you to the test

Words fall to the ground, they’re scattered everywhere

Where once they brought life, now, they bring despair

But in the midst of all this chaos, in the midst of pain

I see the words of Jesus, and they will never wane

He said, “I am the Bread of Life, I am the Way

I am the Truth, the Life, I am the Victor of the grave”

He said, “I am the Living Water, I am the Door

I am the Good Shepherd, I am the One you’re looking for”

So when the words of life, are scattered everywhere

Just remember the words of Jesus, and run to Him, for He cares

And when the words of life, are scattered everywhere

Just remember the words of Jesus, and the cross that He did bear.

I will praise You through the night

For You are my delight

And I will praise You through the day

For You are the only Way

In You I live, in You I move

In You I find my being, my groove

And as I sit at Your feet so dear

I am free, no more to fear

For You have broken all the chains

That had held me, caused me pain

And Your love flows ever sweet

As I worship at Your feet

You are the Bread of Life

And I’m free from all pain and strife

You are the Living Water, too

And I’m free to love, to love You

So I will praise You through the night

For You are my delight

And I will praise You through the day

For You are the only Way

You are the only Way

And I will praise You through the day.

I once had a dream, a dream so very sweet

And in it, I saw, the Bread of Life, I did meet

He said, “Come, sit at My feet, and let Me feed you

For I am the Bread of Life, My love for you, ever true”

His eyes were shining, His hair, as white as snow

And the love in His voice, made my heart overflow

And then He smiled, as He held out His hand

And I knew I was safe, in this heavenly land

He showed me fields, fields of purest wheat

And He said, “My dear child, come, sit, sit and eat”

And as I sat, and looked, the fields were changing hue

For it was as if, the wheat, all slowly withdrew

And I saw, oh! I saw, the Bread of Life, so sweet

And I knew, I knew, I was sitting at His feet

And then He said, again, “My dear child, come, sit, sit and eat

For I am the Bread of Life, My love for you, ever sweet”

And as I ate, I knew, I was never going to be alone

For the Bread of Life, had come to take me home

He said, “When you’re hungry, come, come and dine

For I am the Bread of Life, and you will be ever Mine

And when you’re thirsty, come, come and drink

For I am the Living Water, and you will never shrink”

So now, I sit, and I eat, and I drink, and I sing

For the Bread of Life, is the risen King

So thank You Lord, for loving me

And setting me, forever, free.
